Our additional commitment: CO₂ sequestration through compost build-up

With our combined project, we combine verified emission reductions through a certified climate project with additional commitment. Revitalised, fertile soils are the basis for healthy food and clean groundwater. They form the foundation of life for us humans and for many species of flora and fauna. Our goal is to make our soils more fertile again naturally by building up compost. More and more farms are continuously taking part in our programme.

With the build-up of compost, CO₂ is removed from the atmosphere and absorbed by the soil. Our soils are therefore one of the most powerful natural CO₂ stores. The compost content is regularly measured and documented. The participating farmers receive extensive support and guarantee long-term CO₂ storage. The project contributes to agricultural development and to increasing biodiversity within agriculture. The certified climate project is registered with international standards.
