This combined project contributes to the financing of a certified climate project and additionally supports nature conservation in Germany. For every tonne of CO₂ saved through the contribution via a certified climate project, a financial contribution goes to a nature conservation project in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. In this way, we enable the protection of existing peatlands there and also promote the rewetting of peatlands that were drained in the past. Intact peatlands not only store large amounts of CO₂, but are also important habitats for endangered animal and plant species.

Currently, the nature conservation is combined with a certified climate project in India (climatepartner.com/1610). The project enables people to switch from inefficient and environmentally harmful practices to solar lamps and water filters.
